Executive Director – D. Ellzey

The Executive Director is responsible for steering the mission and vision of the organization and managing its operations, administration, programs and strategic plan.

Chief of Staff – J. Suber

The Chief of Staff role is defined by its ability to provide strategic counsel to key leaders within an organization. They are responsible for serving as a strategic advisor to leadership, assuming day-to-day responsibility for projects and tasks, and creating and maintaining cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success.

Chief Legal Officer – T. Timmons

The Chief Legal Officer is the head of the legal department and is responsible for the legal affairs of the Department of Employment and Workforce. This position is also responsible for the appeals department, as well as equal opportunity and Freedom of Information Act engagement. The CLO provides legal counsel help the agency make informed decisions with the highest integrity.

Chief Administrative Officer – K. Hamm

The Chief Administrative Officer devises strategies and policies to meet agency goals, coordinates inter-departmental activities and delegates responsibilities to the appropriate department leader. This role manages the day-to-day operations of various support functions, such as project management, IT and communications.

Chief Financial Officer – K. Michaelson

The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing the financial actions of the agency including grant activity, the contingency fund, benefit payments and reporting, as well as analyzing and advising agency direction for the UI Trust Fund, and other state and federal funding programs.

Employment Services – G. Parks

The Assistant Executive Director, Employment Services oversees a wide range of services for jobseekers and employers both from the agency and through the SC Works system throughout the state. This position also oversees the veterans programs, helps businesses and workers affected by layoffs, and administers and manages federal programs.

Workforce Development – M. Paczynski

The Assistant Executive Director, Workforce Development is responsible for the program direction and administrative oversight of federal workforce programs and partners with education and economic development to anticipate skill needs and provide a skilled workforce. This position also develops funded initiatives to address barriers that prohibit individuals from obtaining employment in high-growth, high-demand occupations.

Unemployment Insurance – J. Suber

The Assistance Executive Director of Unemployment Insurance works to provide an exceptional customer experience by developing and maintaining standards and resources that constantly improve services. This position oversees daily operations while engaging employees and planning operations to implement optimal solutions.

Technical Services, Policies and Reporting – K. Cummings

The Assistant Executive Director of Technical Services, Policies and Reporting provides technical expertise in the operation of the employment services operating systems and develops policies and procedures that adhere to federal and state law and regulations governing unemployment, workforce development and employment services.
